For our Together, we are Sands campaign, we are celebrating the impact of the connections made within and beyond the Sands community.

Thank you to Ritu for sharing her connection to our community – a community unlike any other.

I first became aware of Sands nearly 30 years ago since the death of my children Ram, Nina, and Suraj.

 

I felt I had a massive void and traumatised by what had happened to me. When I came to Sands, I realised I was not alone, and the befrienders understood exactly what I was feeling.

 

I am now a volunteer for Birmingham Sands and I am keen to raise awareness of Sands within all communities and inform anyone affected by baby loss that we are here to support them and that they are not alone no matter their background or culture.
