For our Together, we are Sands campaign, we are celebrating the impact of the connections made within and beyond the Sands community.

Thank you to Caroline for sharing her connection to our community – a community unlike any other.

"17 years ago my second child, Joseph was stillborn. I thought my world was going to cave in.

"I was lucky to be given a leaflet about sands from the midwife who gave her spare time to being a bereavement midwife when very few were around.

"I met Claire on the Sands forum and Powys Sands were hosting a walk which I attended and met Heatherjane.

"We decided there and then we needed to start a local group in Cardiff and in October 2006, Cardiff and Newport Sands was formed.

"I have met many inspirational people throughout my time with sands, from speakers at conferences to families who we have kept in touch with and seen their rainbow babies grow."

Read more stories of connections and keep checking for new ones throughout June.

Through all these different experiences, the one connection remains, our precious and loved babies.
