Take on the world famous TCS London Marathon with Sands

The TCS London Marathon is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can complete a truly awesome challenge whilst raising funds and awareness for a charity close to your  heart. As part of Team Sands you will not only get to train for the 26.2 mile distance with our training support, but you'll be part of a team who are all joining Sands for the same reason. Every year we have a wonderful community of runners and we would love for you to be part of it.

You can join Team Sands in one of two ways. Either through a Sands charity place and commit to raise a minimum amount of £2250 for Sands. Or you can use your own place and fundraise what you can for Sands. 

Our 2025 charity place applications are now open. Our applications will close in July 2024 so make sure you apply as soon as you decide you want to take on this incredible marathon.

Enter the Ballot Lottery

The London Marathon 2025 Ballot Lottery opens on Saturday 20 April 2024 and closes on Friday 26 April 2024, to find out more information and how to apply go to the London Marathon website. If you are successful at securing a ballot place, run with #TeamSands! As a ballot runner you will be given the same support as a charity runner, but you are not expected to raise a minimum sponsorship target.

• Warm Sands welcome with fundraising ideas and training tips
• Supportive team emails and Team Sands WhatsApp group to get to know your team. 
• Free Sands running vest with option to personalise with your name.
• Training support
• Team Sands cheer spot on race day
• Team Sands HQ on race day to spend time with friends, family and the rest of Team Sands after your run.
• Once-in-a-lifetime experience which will help save babies’ lives and support anyone affected by the death of a baby.

The difference you will make

Sands want to ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of time.  We want to campaign for change and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the pain of losing a baby.

We all know someone who has lost a baby. So join Team Sands and help us continue to be there for them.

Volunteer and join our Sands Cheer Squad

Join the official Team Sands Cheer Squad in Central London to cheer on our incredible London Marathon runners.

Can you offer your time to come along and cheer from 11am until 6pm on race day? Sands will be located by Mile 23.5, 30 Fish Street, Monument EC3R 6DN.

You will be supported by receiving:

• Free Sands t-shirt 
• Pompoms and clappers to make some noise on the cheer point.
• Dedicated contact in our Volunteering Team and Events Team
