15 babies die before, during or shortly after birth every single day in the UK. That is unacceptable. To make people take notice we need your help.

Raise awareness on social media

A Tweet or Facebook post can go a long way. On 15 June we want as many people as possible to post their support on social media using the #15babiesaday hashtag.

All you need to do is say why you’re supporting the #15babiesaday initiative on 15 June and ask others to do the same. Below is an example post.

Events

Look out for special events run by Sands in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland from 15 June 2017. We’ll provide more information about these nearer the time.

Talk to parents whose baby has died

Baby death is still a taboo subject, we want to change that. We support bereaved parents and families from across the UK and from many different walks of life. One thing many of them have in common is that they feel isolated from their close friends and family after their baby has died. If you know someone you think has been affected by the death of a baby, talk to them about it. Check out our 5 ways you can support someone whose baby has died leaflet.
