Sands Memory Booklet
The memory card/booklet has been created so that when parents leave hospital after the death of their baby, they have something at least to take home with them and something tangible to show that their baby really existed.
It is very important that the card is completed carefully, as this may be all the parents have to remind them of their baby and will be something they will treasure forever.
Each booklet comes complete with instructions (below) on how to fill the booklet in.
How to fill the card in.
Page 1; The Baby's details - The first line is for baby's name followed by the date and time of birth.
Page 2: Photograph -- This should be attached with either glue or special photo corners. The Baby's first name can be written underneath.
Page 3: Hand and Footprints -- These should be done with great care using an inkpad. We suggest the prints are gently pressed straight onto the memory card.
Page 4: Lock of hair -- If the baby was born with hair, a lock of this could be placed in the envelope enclosed and attached to the centre of this page. If not, another memento could be placed here.
Page 5: Memories -- This should be left blank for the parents to fill in if and when they wish to.
Page 6: The back Pocket - Parents may want to use this to keep letters, their baby's wristbands, or other items associated with their baby. If your hospital has a bereavement support leaflet, this could be enclosed. Your local Sands group may have a leaflet which could be included.
The Memory Cards can be ordered via the Shop or from Sands direct.
