A time to remember babies loved and lost and for all who are suffering.

LEICESTERSHIRE SANDS - ANNUAL SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE
Leicestershire Sands is holding a special service to remember all those babies who were stillborn or died so soon after birth. The service will be held in Holy Trinity Church, Regent Road, Leicester at 3pm on Saturday 19th November 2011, after which refreshments will be served.
During the service, we will read out the names of all the babies we are remembering and you will have an opportunity to light a candle in their memory. Although the service is being held in a Church, we hope it will be acceptable to families of all faiths and those who have no religious affiliation. The emphasis throughout is to come together to remember our babies who have died.
If you are able to join us and would like us to read out a name or names, please let us know by phoning or texting us on 07721 068464 or emailing info(at)leicester-sands.org.uk before Monday 14th November 2011.
Whilst the church is quite large, it would really help us if you could let us know how many of you will be attending the service. We will be read out your baby’s or babies’ names even if you are unable to join us during the service.

Eastbourne District General Hospital Babies' Memorial Services
You are welcome to attend the Babies' Memorial Services held by Eastbourne District General Hospital, which are held for anyone affected by the death of a baby. They are held for those who may or may not have a reigious faith and aim to offer good support in a sensitive and caring environment.
There are 2 services in 2011 on Wednesday 6th April and Wednesday 5th October. Both services start at 6.30pm and are held in the Chapel at Eastbourne District General Hospital, Kings Drive, Eastbourne, BN21 2UD

Dumfries and Galloway Sands
are delighted to announce their big fundraiser for this year will be their Grand Ball on 23rd September at Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries; 7pm for 7.30pm. Dress code formal.

Tayside Sands Annual September Walk
Tayside Sands invite you to join them at their annual September Walk starting at Camperdown House from 11.30am on Sunday 11th September
The route runs from Camperdown house down to Bridgeview cafe riverside Dundee and back again.
Food and drink will be provided at the halfway point. For those that don't feel up to the return walk it is possible to finish at the halfway point.

Surrey Sands Christmas Twinkle Service
An opportunity for parents, family and friends to remember much loved babies that have died. The precious life of each baby is celebrated in music and song; by placing a card on the Christmas tree and the lighting of a candle as a list of remembrance is called.
Sunday 12th December at 3pm at St Mary's Church, Church Hill, Caterham, Surrey. CR3 5RA
Music will be provided by St Mary's Music Group and All Saints Warlingham Bell Ringers. The service is for all faiths or none and everyone is welcome.

Chiltern Woodland Burial Park Baby Loss Remembrance Service
For anyone whose life has been touched by the death of a baby during pregnancy or after birth, no matter how long ago.
Chiltern Woodland Burial Park, Potkiln Lane, Jordans, Beaconsfield, Bucks, HP9 2XB on Friday 15th October at 5pm
The service is for those of all faiths as well as those with no religious beliefs. It includes music, readings and the lighting of candles as names are read out as part of the national Wave of Light events.

Glasgow Sands biennial Service of Remembrance
is being held on Sunday 3rd October at 2.30pm at The Holy Cross Church , Dixon Avenue , Glasgow.
Guests are invited to bring a single flower for each baby lost. Clergy and hospital staff from maternity units in and around Glasgow participate and it is usually very well attended with around a thousand bereaved parents and families of all ages.
Blackpool 12th Annual Remembrance Service

Forget Me Not Fun Day
The Forget Me Not Fun Day from 11am - 3pm on Saturday 18th September is being run with East Berks Sands and Dedworth Green First School in Windsor to improve the services supplied to bereaved families at Wexham Park Hospital, Slough. It will incorporate a sponsored walk and many stalls including bouncy castles, tombolas, pick a duck, shoot out, archery etc!
Tayside Sands annual walk
On Sunday 12th September Tayside Sands are holding their 3rd annual walk to raise awareness of and funds for the Why17? campaign and the support they provide in the local area.
Starting at 12 noon you can join the walkers for the full 17k walk from Camperdown House, Dundee to the Dundee rail bridge and back again or you can just walk to the bridge. Food and drink will be provided at the half way point.
Sponsorship form are available but not essential, however each walker will be asked to pay an entry fee of £5.

Babies Remembrance Service
Everybody is welcome to come to this service, led by the University Hospital of Wales Chaplaincy Team and supported by Cardiff Sands.
It is held at Wenallt Chapel, Thornhill Crematorium on Sunday 27th June at 11.30am
During the service a memory card can be written and afterwards a memory pebble placed in the memory bowl in the Ilex Garden.
Refreshments will be available after the service

Gloucestershire Sands Summer Ball
Friday 25th June at Hatherley Manor Hotel, 7.30pm - 3am.
The ball will mark the 1st anniversary of the group and Sands awareness month. It will have a James Bond Theme with a casino, Fireworks, The Dodgems, food from around the world, Girls Allowed and many more surprises.

Glasgow Balloon Release
On Saturday 12th June Glasgow and Ayrshire Sands will be holding their 5th annual balloon release in memory of all babies who died before, around or shortly after birth in George Square, Glasgow. The number of balloons released will correspond with the number of babies who died in Scotland last year, figures based on data from the Registrar General Scotland.
The day will start around 11.00am and the balloons will be released around 12 noon. There will be an opportunity to have a personal message attached to a balloon.
With face painting, a balloon man creating figures, as well as information on Sands.
After the event tea/coffee will be served in the Georgic across from the Square, and goodie bags will be provided for children.
Anyone who wishes a personal message to be added in advance of the day should contact Glasgow or Ayrshire Sands by phone or e mail, although messages can be written on the day, but it saves time a little time if we have them prior to the day.
If you cannot make the day but would like a message attached to a balloon please contact Glasgow or Ayrshire Sands, in advance of the day and they will ensure your message is added.

Scottish Network Day
Groups and Health Professionals in Scotland are invited to join us at the 4th Scottish Network Day at East End Park, Halbeath Road, Dunfermline, KY12 7RB on Saturday 15th May, hosted by Fife Sands.
The day will be informal but informative with several presentations and, no doubt, much discussion. It will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Local groups will have the opportunity for a table to show what their group offers and share best practice.

Bristol Sands Tree of Love Event
Bristol Sands invite you to join them and sponsor a light on their Tree of Love, in remembrance of your baby/babies. The tree will be lit at an informal ceremony where the focus will be the reading out of your dedications together with your baby/babies names.

During the service there is an opportunity to light a candle in memory of your baby(ies) and have their name read out. You are also welcome to bring a decoration to hang on the tree in their memory

Fife Sands Stay and Play Childrens Christmas Party
Fife Sands are really pleased to be holding their first ever Christmas event for children. If a child in your family has been affected by the death of a baby then they are very welcome to come to the Stay and Play Christmas Party.
It is to be held at Play Planet, Dalgety Bay on Thurs 3rd Dec from 6pm - 8pm
There is no charge and parents/guardians are asked to stay (coffee shop available). It is open to children up to 12 years of age. There will be a buffet and present for each child. Fife Sands have exclusive use of the venue for this event.

Family Fun Day in support of Northamptonshire Sands
Saturday 1st August 12 noon to 6pm at The Hungry Horse, Sixfields, Northampton.
Barbeque and outside bar with lots of activities including: 180° bungee jump, bouncy castle, bungee run, penalty shoot out, face painting, a kids' entertainer, live music from Atlantic and the Trans-Atlantic Sound and Fred the ice cream man.
Entry is free but there will be a charges for all activities.

This day, to be held on 25th July 2009 in Leicester, is in the planning stages, but will be an opportunity for Groups and members in the East region to meet and exchange ideas.

Derby Sands
Derby Sands are working with other child bereavement charities to organise our annual Christmas Rose Service on Sunday 7th December 2008, at 3.00 pm.
The service is at the Central United Reformed Church, Derby. The entrance is in Becketwell Lane behind the old Debenhams.
During the service candles are lit for each child and a star hung on our Christmas tree, and there will be an opportunity to mention the child(ren) you are remembering and to share poems & pictures.
This service is for parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, for ALL those affected by the death of a child, however young or old they were, from first beginnings to adulthood.

Gwynedd Sands 2008 Remembrance Service
The Annual Gwynedd Sands Remembrance Service will be held at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital's Chaplaincy Centre on Saturday 8th November at 2pm
The service will be bilingual (in Welsh and English) and during the service a flower will be placed on the altar for each baby whose name is read out. Names of babies will be taken before the service but please ensure that you arrive a little earlier to ensure that all names are included. The Infant Memorial Books will also be open for viewing, should you wish to have your baby's name included in these memorial books, a form will be available at the service. Light refreshments will be served after the service.

Bristol Sands Wave of Light Service
Bristol Sands invite you to join them at their Wave of Light Service on Sunday 12th October.

Baby Memorial Service
To be held on Sunday April 6th 2008 at 11.30am at Chester Cathedral. It is a sensitive service organised by Chester and North Wales Miscarriage Support Group to remember all babies who have died from miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, foetal abnormality, cot death or other cause. There will be a creche available and refreshments served afterwards.

Regional Launch of Professional Guidelines
On Tuesday 27th November 2007 Bristol Sands have organised a Regional Launch of the new 'Pregnancy Loss and the Death of a Baby - Guidelines for Professionals'. It will be held at The Bridge Suite in Southmead Hospital from 1pm to 4pm. The key speaker will be one of the authors, Judith Schott, and there will be a panel, including members of Bristol Sands, to answer questions.
