Clean out your cupboards and help Sands - now you can sell practically anything on eBay and donate from 10% to 100% of the final sale to support Sands' programs of research and services.

This service is FREE and is a simple way to make a contribution.

You can now buy or sell items on eBay, the world's biggest auction site, for Sands! This fantastic scheme means sellers can donate a percentage of their sale price to charity and buyers can be reassured that their money is going to a worthy cause.

Choose how much to donate!

You can choose to donate between 10% to 100% of the sale price of your item (minimum £2 donation) and eBay will donate the same percentage of its final value fees. You can also choose to Gift Aid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer.

The scheme is run by eBay in partnership with the charity MissionFish and you will have to register with both websites in order for your item to qualify.

Special Charity listing!

All eBay for Charity listings are displayed on the main eBay site, so buyers can find them easily. Additionally, the programme has several unique features that help your listings stand out:

Each eBay for Charity listing has a distinctive blue and yellow ribbon . It also has information about your donation amount and the benefiting charity in the item description
Buyers can search for eBay for Charity listings through eBay's advanced search options
Buyers can also search for listings on the dedicated eBay for Charity page
Your item will also be listed on the Sands charity homepage

How does it work?

Although items for sale will be posted through MissionFish they will appear with all the other listings on eBay. MissionFish, is a nonprofit organisation specialising in online charitable auctions, that developed Giving Works for eBay. Giving Works items are marked with a charity ribbon icon so buyers know they are supporting a good cause. Buyers tend to trust charity sellers more and these items often sell for more than non-charity listings. In addition, Giving Works items appear in three categories for the price of one: the category you select, the eBay Giving Works category and on the Sands MissionFish homepage.

What to do next!

1. Visit the Sands Homepage on eBay.
2. If you are not already an eBay seller, get registered and then register for MissionFish.
3. Choose an item to sell.
4. Write an item title and description.
5. List your item through MissionFish and indicate that it will benefit Sands.
6. Complete your transaction. MissionFish collects your donation and passes it on to Sands.
